North Wales MAPPA Strategic Management Board - MAPPA Lay Adviser Vacancy

Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) is a process through which the Police, Probation and Prison Service work together with other agencies to manage the risks posed by violent and sexual offenders living in the community.

A Strategic Management Board oversees the work of each area MAPPA, there are 4 in Wales: Dyfed Powys, North Wales, South Wales, and Gwent. The Senior Management Board is made up of senior representatives from all the duty to co-operate agencies and reviews how effectively the systems are working through regular audits, disseminates good practice and sets objectives for the year ahead in an annual business plan.

The Board is supported by 2 lay advisors who provide an independent viewpoint and the North Wales Board is seeking a Lay Adviser.

Llanover Hall Community Arts Charity- Treasurer Position

Llanover Hall is an arts centre based in Cardiff. It opens its doors for all to come, see and do art. Llanover Hall Community Arts Charity supports the Arts Centre by fund raising and promoting its valuable work as a community arts venue. All Trustees are volunteers and unpaid.

Llanover Hall Community Arts Charity is looking to recruit a new Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees. You will oversee the financial running of the charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements. You will report to the Board of Trustees on finance matters and ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place. As a trustee, you will play a full strategic role in helping to run the charity.

Cardiff East and South Scout – Chair of Trustees

Scouting in the UK is organised through The Scout Association. Its purpose is to help young people, aged 6-25 years old, achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. With 400,000 members in the UK, Scouting is the largest mixed youth organisation in the country.

They would like to hear from people with a business or management background who would like to use their skills to ultimately help young people from all backgrounds achieve their full potential. The role includes chairing trustee and executive meetings and AGM. It will also be essential to work closely with and support the leadership team and be a full and active member of the executive committee. The exact nature of the role will depend on the skills and time commitment of the volunteer.

Re-create – Trustee Vacancies

Re-create has run a scrapstore and promoted play in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan for over 20 years.
Their base in Wroughton Place in Cardiff is a creative hub from where they provide play opportunities for children and also support others to do so. Re-create's activity is based on the belief in the value of play and using recycling to provide resources for play.

They have recently been through a period of change as grant funding has come to an end and are now looking to move forward again.

Coleg Elidyr – Trustee Vacancy

Coleg Elidyr is a residential Camphill Community College providing further education and training for young people aged 18-25 with learning difficulties and disabilities. Founded in 1973 and a registered charity, they aim to provide a complete “joined up” service for people with severe learning difficulties and disabilities supporting them to reach their full potential. 

They work with people with a wide range of disabilities including learning, behavioural, and emotional difficulties and autistic spectrum conditions. The Board of Trustees have recently identified that they need to expand the Board both in number and in particular areas of knowledge and skill.
